Properties list display configuration and settings

Configuring your basic properties list display is a simple and easy way to customize the way that your properties lists look on the front-end of your real estate website. Define whether or not to display a lease/availability filter, RSS link button, property category, etc. and specify the number of properties you want to display on a single page. Basic display settings are particularly useful when you need to make changes in display settings for more than one property list. In this tutorial, we will learn how to configure your basic properties listings display via the Settings section.

We will proceed as follows:

How to configure properties lists display

First, let’s locate properties lists display settings:

  1. Go to the Settings tab. To locate Settings tab, repeat steps 1-3 from Localization tutorial.

  2. Switch to the properties tab.

  1. Find properties List Display groupbox.

Now, let's configure basic properties list display settings:

  1. Locate Default properties Ordering dropdown and select New First form the list. Thus, new properties ordering will be displayed by default.

  2. Mouse over properties List Limit textbox and enter 15 into it. Thus, there will be displayed 15 properties per page.

  3. Locate Show Currency Selector field and set it as Yes.

  4. Locate Display Favourites Button and choose Yes. Thus, Favorite button will be displayed on the front-end.

  1. Mouse over Display RSS Link and choose Yes. Thus, RSS link button will be displayed on the front-end.

  1. Locate Display Page Title and select Yes.

  2. Locate Display Custom Ordering and choose Yes.

  1. Mouse over Display Rent Filter and select Yes.

  1. Locate Display Availability Filter and select Yes. Thus, you add the ability to search for properties available for a specific period of time. Just enter a start and end date of the rental period into the calendars and get the list of available properties.

  1. Locate Display Search Total and choose Yes form the list.

  1. Mouse over Allow Comparison and choose Yes. Thus, Add to compare checkbox will appear on the front-end. To learn more about comparing feature, review properties-to-compare?category_id=4">properties to compare tutorial.

  1. Locate Hide Category Field and select No. Thus, property category will be displayed.

  2. Click Save button. Your screen should look similar to the screenshot below.

Once the settings are saved, go to the front-end to see how the properties listing is displayed.
