FWRE CSV Import Export

Version 2.2.4: 3 fixes.

Bugfix: Imported names find the places you already have. A city, region or type in a CSV file with a space before or after it, including a no-break space copied from a web page, now matches the one already in your dictionary instead of adding a second copy, and a new one is saved without the space. The same goes for the property types Superior Bay brings over from your previous version.

Bugfix: Importing rooms keeps their floor plan images. When a CSV with a rooms column updates a property, each room in the sheet now updates the matching room (by name, then by position) instead of replacing it, so its floor plan image and translations stay. Only a room you leave out of the sheet is removed.

Bugfix: A CSV update keeps your floor plans. Importing a sheet to update existing properties no longer deletes their rooms and floor plan images when the sheet has no rooms column.

An import writes only the columns its file carries. A row updating a property no longer clears the fields of add-ons it has no column for, and an update without a rooms column keeps the property's floor plan rooms. The export reads a property's status from its status labels.

This version needs FW Real Estate 7.1.4.

The importer writes only into your own fields. A spreadsheet column whose name happened to match a field belonging to an add-on could write into it. Import and export now cover your own fields alone.

No change to how this add-on behaves. Nothing a site can observe is different: the English catalogue was rewritten into the form the WordPress directory extracts translations from, and comments inside the code were shortened. The fifteen languages this add-on ships are unchanged.

Your CSV can now bring photographs with it. Add a column of file names, put the files in the import folder, and each listing arrives with its images already attached — no more importing a spreadsheet and then adding pictures by hand, one property at a time.

• Several images for one property go in a single cell, separated by ;.
• Use bare file names, not paths or web addresses; the panel names the folder it reads them from.
• Choose on the Import panel whether images should be brought in at all, and whether a property that already has pictures should keep them or be updated.
• Import only. An export does not include an image column, so a file you exported and re-import will not disturb pictures you already have.

No change you will notice. This release rebuilds CSV Import / Export on the current engine — escaping, scripts and styles now go through each platform's own pipeline — and adds no features and changes no behaviour. It is published so the add-on stays in step with the rest of the product.

FW Real Estate 7.0 rebuilds the product on a new cross-platform engine. What this add-on does for you is unchanged — the features you use in 6.x are the features you get here. What is new is where it runs and how it reaches you:

• It runs on WordPress as well as Joomla, from the same code, so both editions stay in step.
• It has a version of its own. On Joomla that means it is delivered and updated from the store on that version, instead of arriving whenever the component happens to ship a release that bundles it. On WordPress it arrives inside the plugin if it is one of the free add-ons, or in the subscription pack it belongs to.
