FW Rental for WooCommerce tutorial for WordPress

Cart, checkout and orders

When a shopper adds a rental to the cart, the line carries its full set of facts through every step of the purchase:

  • Pickup date and return date
  • Rental days — the total span of the booking
  • Days charged — the days that attract a price after any free-day rules apply
  • Deposit — shown wherever the line appears, named as a deposit and marked refundable
  • Insurance — shown where the shopper accepted it

These facts appear on the cart page, in the mini-cart, at checkout, on the order screen, and in order emails. Nothing is dropped as the shopper moves through the flow.

How the deposit is presented

The deposit is labelled and explicitly marked as refundable at every point it appears. The customer can see at a glance which part of their total comes back at the end of the rental, rather than having to ask. This applies consistently across the cart, checkout, order confirmation, and email notifications.

Block and classic pages

Both the block-based Cart and Checkout and the classic shortcode-based pages are fully supported. Either layout shows the same rental facts — dates, days, deposit, insurance — so the choice of page type is a theme decision rather than a trade-off.
