The Pricing group controls how rental days are counted and what happens when a unit that has future bookings is sold outright. These are shop-wide defaults. Every setting in this group can be overridden for an individual product with the Product Admin add-on.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| First day is free | No | Excludes the pickup day when counting the days that are charged. |
| Last day is free | No | Excludes the return day when counting the days that are charged. |
| Selling a booked product | Cap what can be sold | Controls what happens when a unit is purchased outright while future rental dates are already booked against it. |
By default, both the pickup day and the return day count as chargeable days. Enabling First day is free removes the pickup day from the charged count; enabling Last day is free removes the return day. Either or both can be switched on to match your shop's trading terms.
When a shop rents and sells the same item, an outright sale of a unit can create a conflict: the unit is gone, but a customer already has it booked for a future date. Selling a booked product gives you two ways to handle that situation.
The right choice depends on how much flexibility your shop has when a conflict arises. If you have no way to fulfil a stranded booking, cap the sales. If you can usually resolve a clash before it reaches the customer, flagging gives you the room to do that without turning away a sale.
