Open a product and choose the Rental tab in the Product data box. Three fields at the top control whether and how the product is offered for rent.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable rental | Offer this product for rent by date range. Nothing else on the tab has any effect until this is ticked. |
| Rental only | Remove the option to buy this product outright, leaving only the rental form on the product page. |
| Tier price applies | Whether the price of the matched tier is charged once for the whole rental, or is multiplied by the number of chargeable days. |
With Rental only off, the product page offers both options: Book now and Standard purchase. Renting is selected by default, so a shopper who does nothing extra is already in the rental flow. They can switch to an outright purchase if they prefer.
With Rental only on, only the rental form is shown. There is no outright purchase option on the page.
The price chart you build on this tab matches a rental to a tier based on its length in days. What happens to that tier's price depends on the Tier price applies setting.
Choose the flat option for a pricing structure built around rental windows — a weekend rate or a weekly rate that does not vary day by day. Choose the per-day option when you want the total to scale precisely with the length of the booking.
