What a Shopper Sees

The rental form renders inside WooCommerce's own add-to-cart form, so your theme's button and layout are used exactly as they are everywhere else on your shop. A shopper on a rental product page sees the following.

  • A calendar with the chosen date range highlighted, moving from pickup to return as the shopper adjusts their selection. Days that are already fully booked are marked unavailable and cannot be chosen.
  • The price chart, with each tier listed and the one matching the current selection marked as the shopper changes dates.
  • A summary showing the shortest and longest rental you allow for this product, the number of days in the chosen period, how many of those days are counted and charged, and how many units are free for those dates.
  • The options block, which brings together the comments you wrote for the product, any booking fee, the deposit marked explicitly as refundable, and the insurance as a tick box the shopper opts into or leaves unticked.
  • A reason beside the button when the current selection cannot be added to the cart — explaining what to change rather than simply that something is wrong.

Every one of those answers is worked out on the server by the same code the cart uses. The price, the availability count, and the verdict on a selection are all calculated there and sent to the browser, which only places what it receives. The figure a shopper reads is the figure they are charged — there is no separate front-end calculation that could drift from the total at checkout.
