Categories Module
FW Food Menu tutorial for Joomla!
The FWFM Categories Module displays a list or tree of food menu categories in any Joomla module position. It gives visitors a navigation aid — typically a sidebar or compact header list — so they can jump directly to a category while browsing the main menu page.
Use Cases
- Category sidebar navigation — place the module in a sidebar position to show all categories as a vertical list. Clicking a category links to that section of the menu.
- Mobile category picker — display a compact category list above the menu content for quick filtering on small screens.
How It Works
The module loads the category tree from FW Food Menu and renders it as a navigation list. Subcategories appear nested under their parent category. Only published categories are shown. Active category highlighting is based on the current page URL.
Creating a Module Instance
- Go to Extensions → Modules in the Joomla administrator.
- Click New and select FWFM Categories from the module type list.
- Set a title, choose a module position, and assign the module to the menu items where you want it to appear.
- Configure the parameters described below, then save.
