Text Menu Design Template

The Text Menu Design template presents your food and drink menu as a clean, typography-focused list — no images, no visual clutter. The layout closely resembles a traditional printed restaurant menu, with item names, descriptions, and prices arranged in simple text rows.

Because this template carries no image assets, it is the lightest and fastest-loading design available for FW Food Menu. It is well suited to venues where photography is unnecessary or where page speed is a priority — such as locations with slow in-house WiFi.

Ideal Use Cases

• Wine lists and beverage menus — focus on names, descriptions, and prices without the distraction of photography.
• Printed menu replicas — recreate the look of a traditional paper menu for your website visitors.
• Fast-loading menus — minimal assets result in very fast page load times.

Activating the Template

1. Install the Text Menu Design addon via FW Food Menu → Addons.
2. Enable the plugin in Joomla Plugin Manager.
3. Open your menu settings and navigate to Settings → General → Theme.
4. Select Text Menu from the available theme options.

Only one design template plugin can be active at a time. If another design template plugin is currently enabled, disable it in the Plugin Manager before activating Text Menu.

Layout Areas

• Menu listing — displays item rows in text-only format, showing name, description, and price.
• Item detail — a clean single-item view with no image slots.
• Pagination — minimal pagination output consistent with the text-only style.
• Plugin overrides — includes text-appropriate layout overrides for cart and price plugins.

Compatibility Notes

• Works well with the Tab Categories plugin for tab-based category navigation.
• Does not require the Image plugin. If the Image plugin is active, images are automatically hidden within this theme — no additional configuration is needed.
