Promo Module
FW Food Menu tutorial for Joomla!
The FWFM Promo Module displays a single meal item as a promotional card in any Joomla module position. The card shows the meal's photo, title, description, price, and an optional custom label. You control the card's width, visual design style, and label text through module parameters.
Use Cases
- Homepage promo spot — feature a "Dish of the Day" in a large card placed in the homepage hero area.
- Sidebar upsell — display a "Chef's Recommendation" next to the main menu to draw attention to a specific item.
- Seasonal highlight — swap the promoted meal at any time by updating the module's meal parameter, with no template changes required.
Creating a Module Instance
Go to Extensions → Modules → New and select FWFM Promo from the module type list. Assign the module to a position, set it to published, and configure the parameters below.
Parameters

Size Classes
The Size value maps to a size class that controls the card's typography scale and image height proportions.

Notes
- At least one published meal item must exist for the module to display anything.
- If the selected meal is unpublished or deleted, the module renders nothing.
- The Image addon should be active and an image uploaded to the selected meal for the full visual effect. Without an image, the card shows only the meal title and description.
- You can place multiple Promo module instances in different positions to promote different meals simultaneously.
