Color
The FWFM Color addon lets you apply custom colors and background styles to individual menu categories and meal items directly from the Joomla admin — no CSS editing required. Color values are stored per item and per category, and are injected as inline styles into the menu output, giving them the highest style priority over template defaults.
Use Cases
- Category differentiation — assign a distinct background or text color to each menu section so guests can instantly identify areas such as drinks, mains, or desserts.
- Meal highlights — draw attention to promoted dishes like a Chef's Special or seasonal item by applying a unique card background or border style.
- Brand matching — align menu colors with your restaurant's brand palette without touching any template files.
Fields Added to the Category Form
Once the addon is active, two additional fields appear in the category edit form under the styling section.

Fields Added to the Menu Item Form
Five additional fields appear in the meal item edit form, giving you precise control over each card's appearance.

| Background color | Sets the background color of the meal card. |
| Background image | Loads a background image for the meal card via URL from the Joomla media library. |
| Border style | Applies a preset border styling to the meal card. |
How Colors Are Applied
All color values are selected with a color picker in the admin and saved as hex values. The addon generates inline CSS and injects it directly into the menu output. Because inline styles take priority over external stylesheets, your color choices will always override the active template's defaults. If a field is left empty, no inline style is added and the template's default styling applies for that element.
