SEO Booster

FW Gallery tutorial for Joomla!

SEO Booster

The SEO Booster addon automatically generates meta titles, meta descriptions, Open Graph tags, and structured data for your gallery and file pages. Instead of every page sharing the same generic metadata, each file detail page receives unique tags built from the actual file and gallery data.

What It Does

  • Dynamic meta titles and descriptions — templates with tokens let you define a consistent pattern; FW Gallery fills in the real values at render time.
  • Open Graph tagsog:title, og:description, and og:image are output in the page <head>, so gallery links shared on Facebook, Twitter, and similar platforms display attractive previews.
  • JSON-LD structured data — schema.org ImageObject markup is injected into file detail pages, helping search engines understand your image content and qualify pages for rich search results.

Token Reference

Use these tokens inside the meta title and meta description templates. Tokens are replaced with live data when each page is rendered.

  • {file_title} — the title of the individual file.
  • {gallery_name} — the name of the gallery the file belongs to.
  • {site_name} — your Joomla site name.

Example title template: {file_title} — {gallery_name} | {site_name}

Settings

When the addon is active, its settings appear under Settings → Addons → SEO Booster.

  • Meta title template — defines the <title> tag pattern for file pages. Use any combination of the tokens above.
  • Meta description template — defines the <meta name="description"> pattern. If a file has no description, the addon falls back to the gallery description, then the site description.
  • Open Graph tags — enable or disable og: meta output for social sharing previews.
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) — enable or disable schema.org ImageObject output on file detail pages.

How Structured Data Improves Search Visibility

When Structured data is enabled, FW Gallery embeds a JSON-LD block in the page <head> that describes each image using schema.org vocabulary. Search engines use this markup to understand what the image is, who published it, and how it relates to the surrounding content. Pages with valid ImageObject markup are eligible for rich results in Google Image Search and standard search listings, which can improve click-through rates compared to pages with no structured data.

Important Notes

  • SEO Booster supplements Joomla's built-in metadata settings — it does not replace them. Metadata set directly in Joomla menu items or articles is unaffected.
  • Templates apply to file detail pages. Gallery listing pages use Joomla's standard metadata handling unless a template token resolves appropriately.
  • Tokens that cannot be resolved (for example, a file with no title) fall back gracefully rather than outputting a blank tag.

To install this addon, open the Add-ons panel inside FW Gallery. See Getting Started → Add-ons for details on free addons, paid addons, and site verification.
