The following covers the most frequent problems encountered when running FW Real Estate, along with the recommended steps to resolve each one.
Component Not Appearing After Installation
If the FW Real Estate menu does not appear in the Joomla administrator after installation, the component may be unpublished. Go to Extensions → Manage in the Joomla admin, locate FW Real Estate in the list, and confirm its status is set to Enabled. If it is disabled, enable it and reload the admin panel.
Properties Not Showing on the Frontend
If visitors see a blank page or no properties listed, work through the following checks in order:
Menu item exists: A Joomla menu item must be created and linked to a FW Real Estate view such as Properties Listing. Without a menu item, the frontend view has no URL to load. Go to Menus, confirm the menu item exists, and verify its type is set to one of the FW Real Estate options.
Component is published: Confirm the component is enabled in Extensions → Manage as described above.
Property is published: Open FW Real Estate → Properties and check that the individual property has a published status. Unpublished properties do not appear on the frontend.
Required fields are complete: Properties missing the Title, Status, or Type fields will not display on the frontend even when published. Edit the property and ensure all required fields are filled in.

Plugin Features Not Appearing
FW Real Estate functionality is extended through addons. If a feature — such as a map, contact form, or favorites button — is not appearing on the frontend, the responsible plugin may not be active.
Open FW Real Estate → Settings → Addons tab. If the plugin's settings card is not visible there, the plugin is not currently active.
Enable the plugin through the Add-ons panel within the FW Real Estate admin interface.
Once enabled, the plugin's configuration options will appear in the Addons tab, and its features will be available on the frontend.

Permission-Related Issues
If certain users cannot access the FW Real Estate admin sections, or cannot create and edit properties, check the Joomla Global Configuration → Permissions settings and the component-level permissions under Components → FW Real Estate → Settings. Ensure the relevant user groups have the appropriate access rights assigned. Frontend property submission features also depend on the user being logged in with a group that has the necessary permissions.
Frontend Broken After an Update
If the frontend stops working correctly after updating FW Real Estate, do not attempt to diagnose the problem by disabling other installed extensions — this can create additional issues and does not identify the root cause.
The recommended steps are:
Restore from a backup. If you took a backup of your site before applying the update — which is strongly recommended before any update — restore the site to that backup to return to a working state immediately.
Contact FW Real Estate support. Provide the support team with screenshots clearly showing the broken areas of the frontend, along with the exact steps needed to reproduce the problem. This allows the issue to be diagnosed and resolved correctly.
Always take a full site backup before applying any update. A backup is the only reliable way to recover quickly if an update causes an unexpected issue.
