FW Real Estate FW Real Estate – Documentation

Quick Start Guide

FW Real Estate tutorial for Joomla!

Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps to get FW Real Estate running on your site after installation.

Step 1 — Verify Your Website Key

After installation, the FW Real Estate admin header displays a lock icon with the message Website is not verified. Click it to open the Website Key verification modal. This modal contains a Website Key input field and two buttons: Get Website Key and Verify Website Key.

Click Get Website Key — this opens fastw3b.com. If you are not logged in, log in first. The site automatically registers your website and displays your website key along with a Click to copy button and the note: Please copy this key and paste in your website verification window to complete the process and get access to Support and Add-ons installation and updates.

Copy the key, return to your Joomla admin, paste it into the Website Key field, and click Verify Website Key. The system checks that your URL and key match. On success, a Successful website verification! modal confirms your site is verified and that free add-on installation and updates are now available. Ticket support requires a subscription.

Once verified, the admin header shows your account avatar, verified domain, subscription status (No Subscription or Active), support status (Inactive or Active), and Unverify / Account buttons.

Step 2 — Install and Manage Add-ons

Open the Add-ons section inside the FW Real Estate component — look for the puzzle-piece icon in the component sidebar. This is the recommended way to manage add-ons, more convenient than the Joomla Plugin Manager.

The Add-ons section lists all available add-ons — both plugins and modules are referred to as add-ons here — along with their current status. The header shows how many are installed out of the total available (for example, 7 of 37). You can filter add-ons by name and status.

For each add-on you can:

  • Install it if not yet installed
  • Enable or Disable it
  • Remove a disabled add-on
  • Update it when a newer version is available — an Update button appears automatically

Install and enable the add-ons you need before configuring the component. Add-on settings appear in the Settings → Addons tab once activated.

Step 3 — Create a Menu Item for the Properties Listing

To display properties on the frontend, create a Joomla menu item and set its type to FW Real Estate → Properties Listing. This is the main listing view where visitors browse all properties with filters.

If you are unfamiliar with creating Joomla menu items, see the Joomla documentation on adding a new menu item.

Step 4 — Add Your First Property

Before adding properties, set up your Dictionaries (FW Real Estate → Dictionaries) — these populate the dropdowns for property type, status, category, and location fields on the property form.

Go to FW Real Estate → Properties and click New. Fill in the title, status, type, price, address, and description, then upload photos via the Gallery tab. Publish the property when ready — it will appear immediately on your Properties Listing page.
