FW Real Estate – Documentation

The FWRE Favorites addon lets visitors save properties to a personal favorites list and return to them later. A heart-shaped toggle button appears on every property card and on individual property detail pages, giving buyers and agents a quick way to shortlist properties without losing their place in a search.

How Favorites Are Stored

Storage works differently depending on whether the visitor is logged in:

• Guest visitors — favorites are stored in a browser cookie. They persist as long as the cookie remains intact, but are lost if the visitor clears cookies or the session expires.
• Logged-in users — favorites are saved to the database and remain available across multiple devices and browser sessions.

When a guest logs in, any properties they saved as a guest are automatically merged into their account, so nothing is lost at the point of login.

Favorites Listing Page

Create a dedicated favorites page by adding a menu item of type FW Real Estate → Favorites. This page displays all saved properties using the same grid or list layout as the main property listing. Properties that have been unpublished or deleted from the site are automatically excluded — the list always reflects only currently available listings.

Common Use Cases

• Active property search — a buyer browsing many listings can save a shortlist to revisit and compare without repeating the search.
• Agent workflow — registered agents can maintain a curated shortlist to reference when working with clients.
• Return visits — visitors who are not ready to inquire can bookmark properties and come back when the time is right.

Settings

This addon has no configurable settings. Once active, the favorites toggle button and listing page type are available immediately with no further configuration required.
