FW Real Estate – Documentation

The FWRE Video addon adds a video section to property listings. Each property can have one video attached, using one of three methods: embedded from a provider such as YouTube or Vimeo, linked as a remote file URL, or uploaded directly as a local file. If no video is added to a property, the video section does not appear on the frontend.

Adding a Video to a Property

When the addon is active, a Videos section appears inside the Media tab of the property edit form. Choose one of the three source options described below.

Video from Provider

Use this option to embed a video hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or a similar platform. The platform's native player is used on the frontend.

• Video provider — select the hosting platform (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
• Video ID — the identifier from the provider URL. For example, a YouTube URL such as youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ uses dQw4w9WgXcQ as the Video ID.

Remote Video File

Use this option to link to a video file hosted on your own server or CDN. The video plays in an HTML5 player on the frontend.

• URL to video file — the direct URL to the remotely hosted video file.
• Cover image — an optional thumbnail (JPG or PNG) displayed as the player poster before playback begins.

Upload Video

Use this option to upload a video file directly. This suits short informal walkthroughs recorded on a phone without needing an external hosting service. The video plays in an HTML5 player on the frontend.

• Video file — upload a local video file. Supported formats: MP4, FLV, SWF.
• Cover image — an optional thumbnail (JPG or PNG) displayed as the player poster before playback begins.

Frontend Display

The video player appears on the property detail page. Provider videos use the platform's native embed player. Remote and uploaded videos use an HTML5 player. When a cover image is set, it is shown as the player poster until the visitor starts playback.

Notes

• Only one video per property is supported.
• Supported upload formats: MP4, FLV, SWF.
• Cover image formats: JPG, PNG.
• This addon has no configurable settings of its own.
