Watermark
The FWRE Watermark addon automatically overlays a logo or text on every property photo uploaded to your site. Original images are always preserved on the server — the watermark is applied to display copies only, so you can change or remove it at any time without losing the originals.
Why Use Watermarks
- Brand protection — your agency logo travels with every photo, even if images are scraped or downloaded.
- Copyright notice — add text such as "© Agency Name" to discourage reuse without attribution.
- Deterring listing theft — branded photos are harder for competitors to copy and republish as their own.
Watermark Settings
All watermark controls are in Settings → General → Watermark.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Apply watermark | Enables or disables watermarking globally. When turned off, new uploads are stored without a watermark. |
| Watermark image file | Upload a PNG file to use as a logo watermark. A transparent PNG is recommended so the watermark blends naturally over varied photo backgrounds. |
| Watermark text | A text string to burn into the image — for example, your agency name or a copyright notice. Can be used alongside an image watermark. |
| Display position | Where the watermark appears on each photo: Center, Left Top, Right Top, Left Bottom, or Right Bottom. Default is Bottom Left. |
Applying the Watermark to Existing Images
New uploads are watermarked automatically once the feature is enabled. For photos already on the site, click the Apply Watermark on Images button inside the Watermark settings card. This regenerates the display copy of every property gallery image using the current watermark settings.
If you later change the logo, text, or position, press the button again to update all existing images. Because originals are kept intact, you can repeat this process as many times as needed. Allow extra time to complete if your site holds a large number of property photos.
Tips
- Use a PNG with a transparent background so the watermark does not obscure important parts of the photo.
- Test the position on a variety of photo types — a bottom-left watermark that works on landscape shots may be less visible on portrait-oriented images.
- After any change to watermark settings, always press Apply Watermark on Images to ensure all existing photos are updated.
