FWRE Search Module

FW Real Estate tutorial for Joomla!

The FWRE Search Module places a standalone property search form in any Joomla module position. It exposes the same filters available on the property listing page, so visitors can search from a homepage hero section, a sidebar, or any other position without navigating to the listing page first.

Use Cases

  • Homepage hero search — a prominent search form at the top of the homepage lets visitors filter by location, type, and price before reaching the listing page.
  • Sidebar search — keeps the search form visible across all pages so visitors can refine criteria at any time.
  • Minimal quick search — the compact layout presents only the most important fields for a simplified search experience.

Creating a Module Instance

Go to Extensions → Modules → New and select FWRE Search from the module type list. Assign it to a module position and configure the parameters below.

Parameters

Module class suffix CSS class suffix appended to the module wrapper for custom styling.
Theme Design theme applied to the module output.

Live AJAX Results

As a visitor adjusts filters, the property listing updates in real time without a full page reload. Result counts and listing cards refresh via AJAX as each filter changes.

Active-Filter Chips

Applied filters appear as removable chip tags below the search form. Clicking the × on a chip removes that filter immediately and refreshes the results, giving visitors a clear view of what criteria are active.

Notes

  • The module submits to the Properties Listing page set in Redirect to menu item. If left empty, the default component router handles the redirect.
  • Fields hidden via the display checkboxes are also hidden from search results filtering on the target listing page when accessed through this module.
  • The Saved Searches plugin adds a Save Search button to this module when that button is enabled in the Display fields settings.
