FW Real Estate – Documentation

The FWRE Mortgage Calculator addon adds an interactive financing calculator to your site. Visitors enter a property price, down payment, loan term, and interest rate to get an instant monthly payment estimate. Below the result, a full amortization schedule breaks down principal and interest for each period of the loan. All fields update in real time — no page reload required.

Use Cases

• Property detail sidebar or footer — display the calculator directly on single property pages so buyers can run numbers for the listed price on the spot.
• Homepage financing widget — embed on the homepage to help first-time buyers gauge what they can afford before browsing listings.
• Dedicated calculator page — drop the shortcode into any page for a standalone financing tools section.

Shortcode

Place the calculator anywhere using the shortcode:

[fwre_mod_mortgage]

All parameters are optional. Omitting a parameter uses its default value.

Shortcode Parameters

• default_cost — Pre-filled property price. Default: 1000000.
• default_down_payment — Pre-filled down payment percentage. Default: 20.
• default_loan_term — Default loan term in years. Accepted values: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30. Default: 10.
• default_interest_rate — Pre-filled annual interest rate (%). Default: 30.
• hide_property_tax — Set to 1 to remove the annual property tax field. Default: 0.
• property_tax_rate — Default annual property tax rate (%). Default: 1.
• hide_hazard_insurance — Set to 1 to remove the hazard insurance field. Default: 0.
• hazard_insurance_rate — Default annual hazard insurance rate (%). Default: 0.5.
• hide_mortgage_insurance — Set to 1 to remove the PMI field. Default: 0.
• mortgage_insurance_rate — Default monthly PMI rate (%). Default: 0.02.
• amortization_schedule — Display the breakdown table by monthly or yearly periods. Default: yearly.

Notes

• Visitors can override every pre-filled value — the defaults are a starting point, not locked values.
• When placed on a single property page, the active design template can embed the calculator automatically in a sidebar or below the listing content, depending on the Position on property page setting configured in the addon.
• Hiding optional fields (property tax, hazard insurance, PMI) simplifies the interface for markets where those costs are not typically shown upfront.
