Favorites
The FWRE Favorites addon lets visitors save properties to a personal list and return to them later — without repeating a search. A heart-shaped toggle button appears on every property card and on the property detail page.
How the Save Button Works
Each property displays a ♡ Save button. Clicking it toggles the property in or out of the visitor's favorites list, and the button state updates to ♥ Saved to confirm the action. Clicking again removes the property from the list.
Storage: Guests vs. Logged-In Users
Storage behavior depends on whether the visitor is logged in:
- Guests — favorites are stored in a browser cookie. The list persists for the duration of the cookie but is lost if the visitor clears cookies or the cookie expires.
- Logged-in users — favorites are stored in the database and remain available across devices and browser sessions.
Merging Favorites on Login
If a visitor saves properties as a guest and then logs in, their guest favorites are automatically merged into their user account. No properties are lost during login.
Viewing the Favorites List
Saved properties are displayed on a dedicated favorites page. The list uses the same grid or list layout as the main property listing. Any property that has been unpublished or deleted from the site is automatically excluded from the favorites listing.
Common Use Cases
- Active search — a buyer browses multiple listings and saves a shortlist to compare later without searching again.
- Return visits — visitors who are not ready to inquire can bookmark properties and come back when ready.
- Agent workflow — registered agents can maintain a shortlist of properties to reference when working with clients.
Settings
This addon has no configurable settings. Once installed, it works automatically on property cards and detail pages.
