FW Real Estate – Documentation

The Trestle integration is built and configured for each client as part of a setup service. There is nothing to install or enable yourself. This page describes what the integration does so you can decide whether you want it.

What It Is

Trestle is CoreLogic's RESO Web API distribution platform — the mechanism many North American MLSs use to deliver listing data to their members' vendors. The integration pulls listings, photos, price changes, and withdrawals from your Trestle feed directly into FW Real Estate, keeping your site in step with the source without anyone re-entering data manually.

If your board has told you that your website provider should apply for Trestle access, this is the integration they mean.

Why It Is a Service

Trestle access is granted per MLS, and each grant comes with its own dataset, its own available fields, and its own rules about what may be displayed. Two clients on Trestle rarely receive the same shape of data.

The mapping work — deciding which feed field becomes which of your property fields, what to do when your board does not send a particular field, and which listings should appear on your site at all — is what makes the difference between a feed that runs and a site that is actually right. That work is scoped individually for each client. Adding a second board later is additional scoping, not a setting you can apply yourself.

How It Works Once Live

• It runs on a schedule. The site's own scheduled job fetches new and changed listings automatically. Nobody needs to trigger it manually.
• Feed fields are mapped onto your property fields. Every feed names things differently. Setup pulls a sample of real records from your feed and maps its fields onto your property fields — including fields that your add-ons contribute — so imported listings look like the ones you enter by hand.
• Nothing runs until a real sample has come back. Until the credentials have actually returned data, a full import cannot be started. This is deliberate: a misconfigured feed imports nothing rather than something wrong.
• Updates and removals follow the feed. A price change at the source becomes a price change on your site. A withdrawn listing stops being published.
• Photos come across with the listings and go through your site's own image pipeline, so they are resized — and watermarked, if you use that feature — exactly like any other property photo.

What We Need From You

• Your own agreement with the data provider. Credentials are issued to you, under your licence with your board or platform. We cannot supply them, and a feed cannot be shared between sites.
• A decision about scope. Feeds are usually larger than what a site should show. You will need to decide which offices, property types, and statuses to include.
• Your field priorities. Which feed fields matter most to you, and what should happen where the feed is silent.

Contact us with the platform you are on and the feed you have access to, and we will scope the work. If you do not have Trestle access yet, we can advise you on what to ask your board or provider to grant.

Imported Listings Are Ordinary Properties

Once listings are in FW Real Estate, they behave like any other property on your site. They use your design, your search configuration, your add-ons, and your URLs — nothing about them signals that they came from an external feed.
